Describe Yourself:Born in New York City, in 1937 he graduated from Â"The University of OklahomaÂ" in 1960, worked for Orin Riley in the Conservation dept. of the Guggenheim Museum.Â" Upon leaving the museum he apprenticed himself to Fredrich Kiesler, the avant-garde architect and sculptor who designed Peggy GuggenheimÂ's Â"Museum for Abstract ArtÂ" also Â"The Museum for the Dead Sea ScrollsÂ" and the Â"World House GalleryÂ" and the Â"Endless House.Â" He had a frame shop on Tenth Street then he became the master carpenter for the Negro Ensemble Company after leaving the NEA opened a stage scenery business for off Broadway, television and properties for Broadway shows. Some of the most sets were Â"One Flew Over the CookooÂ's NestÂ" for the new Mercer-Hanesberry Theatre (since destroyed), Â"Un GrandeÂ' Coke Cola,Â" the Â"Enola Gay,Â" Shelly WintersÂ' three one act plays for off Broadway, Joe PappÂ's Â"Jungle of CitiesÂ" for the Public Theatre, One of his watercolors is in the Brandywine Museum and one of his sculptures in the permanent collection of Columbia University. He has exhibited widely and his paintings and sculpture are in many privet collections. Although primarily an abstract metal sculptor his paintings express the American rural landscape.
